#MPTeamFrance 1

3 days in…

After months of preparation our team of 13 young people are finally in France!  Twelve hail from Mission Point, in Saint John, NB and one from Capital Community Church in Fredericton, NB. All are impacting the kingdom of God! We left on Monday, June 30th on an overnight flight from Montreal to Paris. Both passengers and baggage arrived safely and at the same time!

Our first day was spent in the city of Melun, where veteran missionaries John & Anne Nowacki have raised up an incredible church.

The second photo shows Bro. Paul Brochu giving an introductory talk to members of the group, detailing some of the history of France which both explained why many of the French have distanced themselves from actively following God andintroduced them to the Vaux-le-Vicomte castle, located only 10 minutes from the Melun church.

Built by Nicolas Fouquet, Louis XIV’s finance minister, Vaux-le-Vicomte has both opulent interiors and breathtaking grounds… which we also explored.

Day 2

The next morning, following breakfast (where we were joined by missionary John Nowacki), we climbed into the cars and headed to Châtellerault… some 3.5 hours to the south-west.

Along the route we stopped for sack-lunches which we then took to eat on the grounds of the Chateau de Chambord, the hunting lodge of King François I (pictured to the right).

In the evening, we spent some time praying and practicing for our first service. The team was incredibly relaxed in this service (or at least, if they were nervous, they hid it very well) and they ministered to the local church congregation. Erin Martin shared her testimony which was both very powerful and very well received by the people.

Following the message, from Joshua chapter 1, our team gathered around local church members and prayed for them. What a sweet and powerful presence of God was there!

Supper

Following service, we enjoyed a home-made meal of chili at the Brochu’s home. After the main course, but before desert, came the cheese-course. No truly French meal is complete without a selection of cheese. Bro. Brochu can be seen explaining the different cheeses to the team. What great hosts!!

Day 3

Today we begin day 3. We will have devotionals together followed by a time of prayer-walking through the city of Châtellerault. Please join us in prayer for what God is and will be doing here during this time!
