Yesterday was a long day… I was out of the house for about 17hours, and oh the things I saw.
On the way up to Angers I got a passing glimpse of the Zavatta Circus, which was set up just outside of the city. A good old fashioned circus tent, surrounded by tractor trailers and camels (of course there were camels).

On the way home last night, under cover of darkness, I saw four deer, a badger, a hedgehog and an owl. I’d never seen a large badger in the wild before, my headlights scared him back off the roadway. The owls, on the other hand, are not entirely uncommon when driving in smaller villages. It’s cool, because you only see them at night or in the early morning; something big & light-coloured, generally ‘swooping’.
I’ve had a thing for owls ever since Owls in the Family, Farley Mowat’s great Canadian classic.
Timo Turns 18
More important than nocturnal animals, is our very own Timo Bear, who turned 18 on Tuesday.
Liz made mountains of food for a Sunday afternoon/evening party in his honour, where we got to meet both old friends and some new as well. A couple even traveled up from Bordeaux for the occasion. It was very special.

Timo has boatloads of personality… always has, and he’s becoming quite a young man who is well-appreciated by his peers. We’re just a little extra proud this week.
Last Sunday…
… was a great day even before the party!
On Sunday morning Pastor Brochu was with us and we also had a first-time visitor from Norway who is looking to settle in Châtellerault. We’d met him a few weeks ago as he was passing through Bordeaux, seeking God’s will. He’s since been to several EU countries / cities and is settling here, at least for a while. There’s another couple from the area who have been attending the past couple of weeks as well. We thank God who is attracting a few new hungry souls.
Ghislain & Annie
Would appreciate your prayers for this couple over the next couple of days. He has been dealing with cancer for the past 2+ years. Initially, they only gave hime 2.5 months to live, and he has gone beyond their expectations. He’s not the least bit intimidated about sharing his faith with anyone whose path he crosses, but this week he’s had a couple major setbacks.

Continuing to Pray

On Monday, I had some extra time before I needed to be at school in Angers, so I took the long route, through a few small villages.
These villages all happened to also be on our prayer list of communities for the region, so I used the time to pray, as we all try to do when passing through different communities.
Monday, however, there were still traces of the November 11th ceremonies that happen all through France (as is the case for Remembrance Day back home).
Friendsgiving

Dominic & Melanie are hosting a FriendsGiving event at their apartment later today.
No, they won’t be giving away friends who no longer fit the bill, so to speak. Rather, they’re playing on the THANKS-giving holiday that will be celebrated stateside this week. They get to hang out with a lot of cool people that they all really like and solidify already strong relationships, into which they can plant seeds of faith.
Thanks for stopping by again today.
Let what you read, inform your prayers for us and for France.
God bless you today!
you are a busy one! Happy birthday Timo Gosh he looks just like you!
Hiya Michele, thanks so much. I get that a lot with Dominic but less so with Timo. It’s possible that as he matures he’s getting a bit more of me. (Poor kid – haha!) Hope you are well!
