Goodbye 2023

Goodbye 2023

Whether it’s an attempt to make up for all the posts that I’ve missed in 2023 or just a desire to round out the year… this is it… the last post of 2023.

I won’t be overly dramatic or contemplative (there’ve been a lot of “look back” posts in the past month) but it’s been a relaxing week and I’ll share the last few things of this year as the clock ticks down to 2024.

24 Christmas Memories – 24

24 Christmas Memories – 24

Happy Christmas Eve… It’s December 24th and we’re going back somewhere we haven’t been for a while.

It occurred to me that somehow, I’d skipped over a pretty important year and one that had us all talking… 2020. Yes… THAT year!

Amidst all the chaos of that crazy year… there were still good Christmas memories.

24 Christmas Memories – 23

It’s day 23 and we’re going back somewhere we haven’t been for a while.

After Christmas and to ring in the New Year, we headed to Belgium. My mom had not been back there since our wedding so it went without question that Liz’s family wanted to enjoy a bit of time together with her as well.

… We drove through the northern French city of Long and even saw Long Castle, before crossing the border into the country of French Fries & fine chocolate!

24 Christmas Memories – 22

It’s Day 22 and I’m coming to you a little later than anticipated… but the days are marching on.

Today I’m going to share the last couple of memories shared together with my mom during her stay with us before her return to Canada.

24 Christmas Memories – 20

Welcome to day 20!

If you were here yesterday, you already know who our special Christmas elf was a couple years ago. The VVVIP was my mom, and today I want to share a couple special memories from the first part of her trip…

… starting, in a Castle!

24 Christmas Memories – 18

It’s day 18 and by now, the faces you are seeing in our family pics are beginning to look a little bit more like what you’d see today, as our kids grow and mature.

There are also some new faces beginning to appear in the church family photos, who are part of the church family still.

24 Christmas Memories – 17

It’s day 17 and although it wasn’t the first visit of someone from Liz’s family (her parents had come in October of 2016), it was the first time that a family member was there during Christmas.

You’ll also see our kids’ reaction at receiving treats from home.

Let’s go…
