Youth Convention 2024

Youth Convention 2024

Friday night, Pollux went to the dog-sitter’s house so that we could get an early start the following morning. We were headed north, for youth convention.

We got Timo off to work (Yes – He’s discovering the joys of balancing work life and weekend events... he caught a train up after work Saturday evening) and then we set out on our merry way. Oddly Liz & I got to drive up by ourselves as the youth wanted to be together – what a treat!

Short & Sweet

I mentioned last week that we’re starting to see our kids involved more and more in the national work as well as at the local church level – this of course brings us great joy.

Dominic translated for one of the national youth speakers on Saturday and Melanie did the same on Sunday morning. This was the most I’ve seen Dominic do at the national level and Liz & I were SO impressed. If you’ve never translated live, you may not be able to appreciate the linguistic gymnastics that are involved. There is, of course, his skill and the Lord’s anointing which was evident.

Soph had been fighting a cold for the previous week, but took good care of her voice and was able to sing. She loved being able to mix & mingle with youth from the other churches.

Timo, for his part, had been involved in the pre-convention planning – helping coordinate the media team and then filming / photo-ing when he actually got on site. He’s in his element and does a great job.

Liz & I…

We got to sit back and enjoy the weekend (a rare privilege if we think about past conventions). We also got to have lunch with Kevin & Crystal Wallace (fellow New Brunswickers) following service on Sunday. Of course we knew them before, but we’ve gotten to know them much better since coming to France and they’re a special couple.

Thank you for your ongoing prayers,
which are never unwelcome & never NOT necessary…
God bless you and yours today!
