Welcome to day eleven of my advent calendar of ornaments. Cheesy Christmas (2020 & 2021) is out, and instead I’m giving you a tour of our hodge-podge of a Christmas tree – one ornament at a time until Christmas Day.
Today’s ornament is NOT on our tree this year…
A Twinge of Regret…
Is it OK if I share an ornament that is not on our tree?
When we were in Canada, one of my favourite Christmas tree ornaments was the Enterprise-D (NCC-1701-D), the Federation Battleship captained by Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek, The Next Generation.
OK… ok… so I have been known to have a little bling on the tree from time to time…

This was the coolest ornament! It plugged into the string of mini lights, meaning that the reactor nacelles and the central cannon dish light up, as well as a flashing green beacon on top of the saucer. I mean seriously… how cool is that!?
If I remember correctly, it came with a cool (if not downright frigid) price tag as well… but it was a treat and it was before we had kids, so money was a bit more plentiful (or at least we could spend what we had a little differently). Enough so that I also had a Romulan Warbird hidden elsewhere in the tree… ready for the Enterprise to pounce on!
I suspect we left it in Canada thinking that (a) it took up a bit more space and (b) the electrical requirements would likely be different in Europe, making it unusable…. either way, it didn’t make the cut and is still somewhere in Canada.
… and that’s today’s Christmas ornament.

Give the gift of Parisian strolls this Christmas.

I knew there was a bit of bling hiding somewhere and why not?..its a cool decoration 🙂
Heh heh… thanks Carol!! 🚀
