#3GoodThings – #38

(Written Monday, Feb. 25, 2019)

There are so many coffee quotes that give Monday a bad rap.

“Too much Monday, not enough coffee.”
“Coffee: because Monday happens every week.”
“Keep pouring… it’s Monday.”
“Here’s to Monday! Cream, sugar or valium in your coffee?”

I’ll admit… though I started the day with a hot chocolate… I moved quickly to coffee and enjoyed it on the drive to Angers. All in all though… today was a great day!

Let me tell you about…

Today’s #3GoodThings

  1. Today (as of writing) is my Nan’s birthday. I’m not sure how old she would’ve been… for years and years all we knew was that she was “Plenty-NINE”. 🙂 She gave me my love of all things garden & plant related. From planting nasturtiums in the front garden by the chimney, to harvesting rhubarb from back by the old chicken house and a parlour palm in the living room. She had a green thumb, and she was spiffy when the occasion called for it; pure class!
  2. Today, I laughed with my 80-ish year-old neighbour. His wife is of much poorer health than he is and has dropped hints, on more than one occasion, that perhaps they should move into an appartment. He doesn’t share her opinion. Having dug the foundation himself, run the wiring & plumbing and maintained an impeccable veggie / fruit garden (to this day) he can’t imaging living anywhere else. “But,” he told her jokingly, “I’ll bring you fresh veggies is you decide to go.” Friendships are precious things.
  3. Today, I also found out that I don’t have to drive to Angers next week. We just came off a 1-week school vacation and next week the students have special exams, so while they don’t have Monday & Tuesday off… I do! Yippee!
