Liz is “Virtually” in Quebec

Liz is “Virtually” in Quebec

Last night, the Quebec District Ladies’ Department began their online district ladies’ conference, and Liz was there, “sort of”...

As I mentioned last week, Liz was in the midst of recording videos and after several days of uploading them to YouTube (yes… several days!!) we were able to get them sent off.

But I get ahead of myself… let me back up a bit & talk about a few other things first.

Fresh Eggs & Masks

Fresh Eggs & Masks

As the sun raises over Châtellerault city hall on yet another Saturday morning, my mug of hot chocolate is throwing off steam and the blinds are still closed here in the living room. They’re mechanical blinds that go up at the flick of a switch, albeit rather noisily – so I’ll wait until I hear more stirring in the house before raising them.

I did hear the rooster crow when I opened the shutters in the kitchen, but I can’t hear him from here and even the dog is not stirring in his kennel yet – he spends nights there.

Let’s settle in for a few minutes together & I’ll tell you about the week…

…Where to start?

On Monday, confinement restrictions will begin to be eased a bit here in France. We’ll be able to leave home without a formal justification, confirming where we live & why we’re not there.

Some kids will (in theory) head back to school although not ours… to begin with, it’s just the younger grades. Ours will continue to school from home until at least the end of May / beginning of June (but by then… what’s the point of going back really!?).

As for church services… we’ll wait at least until the beginning of June to know more… that too will continue unchanged for the moment… #Church@Home!

“Soup to Milk” … extremes

“Soup to Milk” … extremes

* Today’s post brought to you by my mobile data *

If that expression comes to mind, it’s because Liz used it the other day to describe the weather the past few days… unpredictable. In the same day, we can have sun, showers, ominous clouds, blue sky, light breezes and heavy winds. Make no mistake, we’re well into Spring, but there are days…. It seems that our worlds, these days, is very much “soupe au lait”.

If I could draw on a somewhat related expression (about “extremes”) for the purposes of today’s post, it’d be “pleasure and pain”, for there’s been a bit of both over the past few weeks. Let’s start with the pain and work our way to the pleasure…
