Welcome to day eighteen of my advent calendar of ornaments. This year, rather than 2020 & 2021’s Cheesy Christmas, it’s our hodge-podge of a Christmas tree that’s front and center… I’m giving you a tour of our tree, one ornament at a time, until Christmas Day.
Today’s ornament is a 3-in-one, but I think you’ll see why…
Baby’s First Christmas…
These three ornaments always find places of prominence on the tree. Recognize these three rascals?

I’m honestly not entirely sure how we ended up with three identical picture-frame ornaments. We wouldn’t have purposefully picked up three before having kids, because we wouldn’t have known at the time how many kids we would end up having. Was it pure luck? Did we happen to purchase three at the same time? Did we have one… or two, then years later find a third to complete the set?
So many questions… so few answers.
Either way out three little cherubs – who look vastly different today – always find a spot on the tree… their tiny features leaving us incredulous at the change that time has wrought. When we pull them out, we think back to how tiny each was; how each of them arrived in slightly different ways / circumstances… some expected, others completely un-expected. We look at how they’ve grown and how proud we are of each of them.
… and that’s today’s Christmas ornament.
