Well… the first thing to be grateful for is…
I survived yesterday.
Feels like I’m only half joking really. I seriously do not handle that kind of heat well at all. I slept downstairs on the couch because upstairs was just sweltering. Even at that… no sheets or blankets over top of me … no can do. Just the white noise of the fan above my head, going full blazes.
The Cool of the Morning
That’s what I’m grateful for today… the cool of the morning.
I awoke, head wildly groggy from the heat & less-than-ideal sleep, somewhere between 7:30 and 8:00am. I rarely do coffee before food these days… but this morning definitely called for it.
I sat and drank it on the patio, under the umbrella, initially listening to the birds tweet & twitter (once the heat of the day hits… they quiet down). Then, I had the pleasure of being joined by Dominic who came out & chatted with me… very nice!
It’s kind of funny, when 20˚C (68˚F) seems “cool”.
Finally… grateful for my kids! … it’s Father’s Day in France and these 3 make my inner eyes light up… probably even more than my outer eyes.
The cool of the morning & three great kids!
