Today was another scorcher in terms of temperatures – and I’m sure not built for heat, but there are a number of things to be thankful for today.

… beginning, but not ending with, lots of air conditioning!

Today’s topic is easy peasy…

I arrived safely, albeit late (or rather early morning) after a late departure. By the time the taxi crossed the city, it was getting close to 3:00am. 😴

… but today we had a GREAT day!

It… has been… FOREVER!

So much so that I’d completely forgotten some of the steps that were, at one point, almost second nature… Things like…

Online check-in being available 24h beforehand… yep, I’m travelling.

Showed up at church today on my way home from picking up Timo downtown. I just wanted to do a quick check-in & see whether or not the lawn needed mowing (we were down in Bordeaux over the weekend – so I didn’t notice it yesterday).

I did my typical ‘perimeter check’ but was surprised by the sight that greeted me today…

This may be one of the toughest, most transparent posts I’ve written since starting the blog back in 2013.

It’s a hard truth, and I’ve had inklings of it for a while, but it’s becoming rather clear, and clarity’s a good thing right?

Thinking a bit about fatherhood for a couple of reasons today, not the least of which is because of yesterday’s SCOTUS decision on Roe v. Wade, but also not exclusively for that reason.

The other is a book that I started some time ago, finished earlier this week, and started again.

Today I was surprised by a little bit of sweetness in the greenhouse.

It’s part of a problem I’m going to have to deal with…

…but I’m thankful for it nonetheless.

… it’s not your typical 50+ year-old guy colour… but then again, what about me is 100% normal? 😇

Today’s source of gratitude was easy.

… it’s the only year where her age, her birth date and the year will all coincide.

She’s studying in Romania so I had to get creative gift-wise…
