Welcome to day two of my advent calendar of ornaments so-to-speak. Since we’re not doing the Cheesy Christmas advent calendar this year, I’m replacing it with a tour of our hodge-podge of a Christmas tree – one ornament at a time until Christmas Day.
Let’s take a look at today’s ornament…

1, 2… Buckle My Shoe
Today’s ornament is much more recent and doesn’t come from nearly as far away as yesterday’s little taste of Israel. It’s a Christmas bauble that I crocheted last year, 2021.
I started crocheting a few Christmas baubles a few years ago. Someone that I follow on Instagram had made some and I just loved them. Those ones are mostly granny-square baubles and I’ll likely share one later on in the month, but this one is a bit different…
Last year I decided to do unique ornaments for Liz & each of the kids. Since I had some bright red crochet cotton, I had the idea to do a bit of a Santa shoe design… black & red with a big, gold buckle.
As much as I love natural material ornaments, like yesterday’s, I also really like home-made items as well… there’s just something very old-fashioned about it.
… and that’s today’s Christmas ornament.
