Back in North America!

Something happened that hasn’t happened – I think – in the history of this blog…

I forgot to post last week!

Things have been beyond crazy over the past two weeks and I’ll get to that, but let me start by saying that today is a very special day because as many of you are reading this, we’ll be sitting in an Pensacola Florida auditorium waiting for Sophie to march across the stage in blue regalia… ready to receive her high school diploma.

P is for…. Purple (& Panic)

This week we were given this beautiful bouquet of deep purple lilacs by our neighbours across the lane. They had no idea that:

a) this is my favourite shade of lilac,
b) lilacs are SUCH a reminder of home, or
c) that our spirits could’ve used the boost that comes with the smell of lilacs filling the room!

With our departure only 3 weeks away… we were a little bit in panic mode this week. But before I get to “panic” let me just talk “purple”…

Medieval Dinner & 5 Things I Learned

I’d been planning this for about a month now and the day came for me to begin putting together a medieval feast. It was originally supposed to be a Valentine’s Day affair, but scheduling meant it had to be pushed off until Thursday (the 15th) in stead.

I banished everyone from the kitchen – this was to be my gift to them. After weeks of running and seemingly scarcely being home, it was my way to tell them I love them.
