Friday night, Pollux went to the dog-sitter’s house so that we could get an early start the following morning. We were headed north, for youth convention.
We got Timo off to work (Yes – He’s discovering the joys of balancing work life and weekend events... he caught a train up after work Saturday evening) and then we set out on our merry way. Oddly Liz & I got to drive up by ourselves as the youth wanted to be together – what a treat!

Christmas more or less snuck up on us this year.
Besides the fact that we’re not getting any younger, I really chalk it up to the fact that Covid19 made it such that the school year was pushed back, beginning in September, meaning that classes (and the related marking, evaluations & such) were also pushed back. So it seems like we were all working right up to the Friday before Christmas.

If you didn’t see my last post you may not have been aware that Dominic qualified, in the quarter final quizzing tournament (that took place via ZOOM), to go on to the national finals. So… last weekend, we changed things up and left Châtellerault for a couple of days. It was really, really nice. As we were driving up to Melun (greater Paris region) it occurred to me that it had been a full 6 months since I’d driven that route.

I want to tell you about our life here this week by sharing three-word groupings and I’m already going to have to cheat on #1…
Although three round trips to Melun, in 10 days, was pretty tiring, there was a refreshing in our Spirit that made last weekend’s trip absolutely worth it. It was the French national youth convention (which doubles as the European youth convention) and it was absolutely incredible. I can’t wait to tell you about it.
Kids… It’s all about kids! Passing on the faith we’ve received, to the next generation. That’s why I’m writing you from the Paris region today.
It felt incredibly good, on Thursday night, when I pushed the “publish” button on Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing website. We’re almost ready for launch…. but let me start a bit further back in the week…
