One of the things that’s always part of IBF, in the week-long summer block week, is that students lead the mid-week service at the church in Melun. They are involved in all aspects of the service from leading worship to prayer and announcements to preaching. This young lady was one of the two students that preached in this week’s service.
I got back to Châtellerault late last night so let me give you a quick run-down of the week…
So we have gotten used to doing something that we never ever did in Canada… buying our tree from a store… Early on in our married life and even when the kids were small, we’d go cut one down from a tree farm or, on the odd occasion, out in the woods. Then we took the plunge and went artificial. Here though… options are few…
Although three round trips to Melun, in 10 days, was pretty tiring, there was a refreshing in our Spirit that made last weekend’s trip absolutely worth it. It was the French national youth convention (which doubles as the European youth convention) and it was absolutely incredible. I can’t wait to tell you about it.
If we were in Canada, we’d be marking November 11th as a day to remember the sacrifice of fallen soldiers in various wars. Young men who gave up their rights, freedoms and – in many cases – their lives, so that we could enjoy a better day. Today I want to give you a few more reasons to Remember…

OK, let’s be clear… today’s feature image is not a picture of me on the road again (I’m for sure not zipping around France in a vintage, red convertible) but it is something I saw while on my way.
Stretches like this, national roads lined with Plane Trees or Sycamores, are a pretty common sight and a welcome break from the frantic pace of the highways, which are extra busy with vacation travel. I came through this stretch yesterday, on my way home from Bible School which took up the bulk of my week, but first let me tell you about an unexpected treat.
On Thursday, our firstborn turned 17 and we celebrated another year of God’s faithfulness in her life, and another year of blessing in ours.
Liz stepped one step closer to the limelight this past weekend (a place she generally avoids) by helping out with the national Bible Quizzing finals. Here you can see her pictured with the coach from Arras (Sofiath Agba) and judge Marion Nowacki (also the national Sunday School coordinator).
I’m treading on thin ice here and I know it. Perhaps not with friends reading this from the southern states or elsewhere in Europe, but with friends in the north-eastern USA and many parts of Canada… there’s a strong possibility! Continue reading
