For all intents & purposes, we were out of the house yesterday for more than 12 hours (save for a 15-min wardrobe change after church) and the older I get, the more I find that taxing.

Today was perhaps the most productive “home day” I’ve had in a very long time.

I could’ve been involved in a meeting in the Paris area – in fact ideally, it would’ve been great to go – but after being up there last weekend, I just couldn’t do it. I come away from those weekends drained, (drive up Friday PM (3.5hrs), after teaching all day, teach Saturday AM, driving home Saturday, getting ready for Sunday morning then Sunday afternoon, getting ready to teach on Monday). I just couldn’t do two of those in a row.

But like I said… it was a productive home-day. Let me tell you about it…

Today was a long day. Not “long” in the bad day… just long in terms of hours.

I taught for my usual 7h, then had to kill 2h while waiting for a 2h evening meeting to begin. The coffee was extra nice to come home to! 🙂

Ahhh Monday you deceptive thing you! You hold the promise of a new week, but you hide it behind the necessary languishing that hangs on until at least coffee #2! (and then some!) 🙂

Forgive my being overdramatic. Mondays aren’t that bad. The secret is having a good autopilot system until the state of “being alive” kicks in.

But it did… and I can tell you about…

After Friday and Saturday…. you can be sure that last night was, again, an early night. But today is the Lord’s day, so a good night’s sleep gave way to a relatively early morning with lots of coffee to get us off to church!
