I’m one of the most negative people I know… Surprised?

This may come as a shocker … but it’s something that bothers me greatly. When in public, I try to keep it under wraps. It’s a particularly cumbersome piece of baggage to carry when you are a person of faith because we aren’t supposed to worry, fret or experience long-term negativity.

Our west-facing, living room window has a new look since the tree got taken down a couple of weeks ago… what do you think?

Although I love seeing the rich pink and orange hues of sunset through this window, this may be my favourite view… the sun reflecting on the house across the street as it breaks over the eastern horizon, behind us.

Jesus… Light of the World

What did I say last week about the Christmas tree?
I called it!

Yesterday, while everyone was out of the house, Liz pulled down the lights & ornaments so that, this morning, there is a tall, dark, conical shadow staring me down in silhouette. This shall be my task following coffee and this post… putting the tree back in its box.

But there’s a light that doesn’t get taken down seasonally or ever go out, and even largely secular France is celebrating it today… whether they know it or not…

How’s your coffee?

I haven’t started mine yet… in fact I’m still at hot chocolate but the day is yet young and coffee there shall be!

As I write, the room is still light by the dim glow of the Christmas Tree, largely in silhouette against the patio window-door, but its lights are a warmer white than the natural light filtering in from out of doors. I can’t help but wonder if this will be the last Saturday morning where I write with it’s quiet yet charming oversight. Hmmm….
