It’s Saturday morning and as I sit down to write… the house is still quiet. Liz is up but still in “stealth mode” and the kids haven’t yet stirred. No telling when that will change. Pollux, surprisingly is not feverishly wagging his tail and staring deep into our eyes… his way of telling us “It’s time for a walk!”
If I can hear one thing… it’s via anticipation and it’s your voice… yes you.
“Has he fallen off his rocker!? It’s not thanksgiving… either in Canada OR the US!”

The kids made it through their first 6 weeks of school and have begun a 2-week break (the school year here is broken down into 6-week + 2-week cycles). Need I say how glad they are for the change of pace?
I dare say that Liz is glad for the break as well as she’ll be able to push ahead with some translation work that she’s needing to wrap up in the next couple of weeks.
For now though… let me give you a quick run-down of the past two weeks…

Gonna be a short one today…We’re beginning our busiest weekend in a long time and would appreciate your prayers.
That’s a lot of driving before starting the school week back up on Monday!
Thank you Lord for opportunities to be useful to others in different parts of France!
I’ll tell you all about this weekend, next weekend.
God bless you today and thank you for your prayers.
(ps. If you’re wondering about the photo… putting a chair in the bathroom was the only way to some early morning reading without waking the kids! …. oh the things we do! 😂)
I love it when you read something that kind of stops you dead in your tracks. It happens a lot. How often do you see a meme or a quote come across your Instagram or Facebook feeds and you have that impression.
As far as social media goes, it happens to me more via Instagram than Facebook. I’m present on FB but it’s not my go-to… Today though, I was stopped up from someplace else, but first… let me recap the week, which had some pretty cool moments.

Not a week goes by that we couldn’t sing the high praises of the girl in today’s feature pic. She keeps a number of plates in the air at any given time – admirably so. But this week may have taken the cake…

If you were to judge solely from the mornings, there would be no doubt that fall is here. This morning at around 9am it was a chilly 11 degrees celcius (52 fahrenheit). That doesn’t mean, though, that the weather is entirely predictable, we’ve had afternoons in the low 30s (mid-high 80s)… try to dress for the day with those variances!
Still though… the cornfields and vineyards don’t lie. It’s harvest-time.

Have you ever heard people talk about “Missions Life”?
Out of those two words, Missions carries the most semantic weight, because we all have a pretty good idea about what life entails. “Missions” defines what kind of life we are referring to… and we tend to think of is as being exciting, exotic and highly rewarding. It is definitely all of these things… but just like people in our passport country or home culture… there are mundane, daily things that need to be tended to as well.
It feels like this week was a concentration of those kinds of rare joys! 😉
